Pop Watson led UMass to an overtime win against Ball State, giving the Minutemen their first home victory over an FBS opponent since 2021, MassLive reported.
The result ended a lengthy gap between home wins against teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision. That milestone applies specifically to FBS opponents, rather than to UMass’ home schedule overall.
MassLive’s report identified Watson as the leader in the victory. The supplied source summary did not include the final score, individual statistics or details of the overtime sequence.
